Iratus Cantormaris Dragons are a chaotic, malevolent breed of coastal-dwellers. Their annual migrations at the start of spring are among the first indications that winter has ended. They use their haunting calls to lure people with a deep resentment to them in an attempt to slake their hunger for carnage. It is considered a sign of ill luck to hear their calls.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Samayoru's hunting patterns tend to follow the rumors of greedy nobility who overstock their castle grounds with game animals for hunting. Particularly in areas where the surrounding woods and lakes are depleted, Samayoru can be found rampaging through lordly property, eating whatever catches his fancy and scaring the rest of the animals off into the woods the commoners are permitted to hunt in. It's been said that Samayoru only leaves when the local lord ceases to hoard game for themselves, and any relapse in the hoarding is an open invitation for him to return and redistribute the wealth again.
