When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

After years of siring sons with strong wander-lust and more daughters than theoretically possible, Bluenose Neptune finally graced his Beta father, Razz Neptune, and decided to stay in the lake of his birth.  He is celebrated amongst the dragons of Razz's Lake, for once he accepts the mantle of leadership his old father can finally back down from his duties and rest.

Bluenose, however, has little intentions of becoming the lake Beta any time soon; he is whimsical and young and possesses a great fondness for lumbering his way onto the beach to sun himself.  The Skywings living on the lake are very fond of him as it is often he -- with a great exhalation while breaching -- that helps the young Skywings take their first flight riding on the updrafts he creates for them.
