Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Wakana Chausiku is a withdrawn dragon who keeps even her words to herself. Wakana's name literally means "music night", but it is meant to be "music of the night". Wakana supposedly sings beautifully, but no dragon is foolish enough to approach her den. Little is known about Wakana, except that she was found as an abandoned egg by her master. Even her master does not know much about Wakana Chausiku, but the other dragons silently will for Wakana to open up to the other dragons in the cave. However, Safi-dhaval and Wakana Chausiku share a wordless acceptance- the only words Wakana has spoken were to Safi-dhaval, and together they form a strange, enigmatic "ying-yang" relationship.
