Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Metaaxvgin strongly subscribes to the belief to live in the moment. The phrase can be heard echoing throughout the cave every morning as the black dragon rises from the nest, stretching out his large black wings and heading out to help with the hunt for the day. Known for his lack of planning ahead, this enthusiastic dragon often finds himself in trouble, even more than many of the young hatchlings in the cave. If it could be avoided by planning, the spirited Metaaxvgin will find himself in the predicament. If any dragon in the cave points this out to him, he writes it off as they are living in the past or worrying too much about the future instead of living in the glorious now.
