Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has long toes, and likes to wander around on lily pads.

And look! Its toes have grown longer and developed webbing! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Swampfoot was the first hatchling adopted into the one of a kind cave. He is the cave guardian, and spends most of his time in the cave. He cares for any egg, hatchling, and even the rare adult dragon in the cave.

He dug a large hole near the back of his cave, and has any near-by water dragons re-fill it up daily, for fresh water. This has also allowed plants to grow there. He caused the cave to grow colorful of flowers, and green from all the vines climbing up to the top of it.
