Avea Pygmies are extremely active dragons known for their aptitude for flight. They will often fly for long distances and are in a constant state of migration. Avea Pygmies live in large groups for protection and they will care for each others’ young. They are herbivores and especially like fruits and berries. When dealing with other species, Avea pygmies are short-tempered and quickly take offense. After one has offended an Avea, gifts and bribes are the best way to regain trust.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

Ares is a large believer in the freedom of life without humans. However, due to his rambling ways and rather odd front left claw, which was deformed at birth, he lives a life on the fringe of the clan. Dragons are afraid to go near him, and he is said to be the Wizard of Aria. Still, the ever-determined Ares continues to preach the glories of a life without humans to any dragon that will listen to him. Secretly, though, Ares loves his soft, fuzzy blanket that a human keeper has given him, and can't stop himself from running towards his keepers whenever he smells strawberries, as they are his favorite type of fruit.
