Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

"Dacrodethyl" is a formal statement in the language of Gilquine, used by a Lord to dismiss his followers. It is thought that the after-effect of being having anyone in your presence "dismissed", that is being alone, is the main reason for this Earth Dragon's name.

Dacrodethyl is a depressed, lonely dragon. He fears the worst of every situation, and cowers in the face of danger. Anyone who tries to get close to him has often emerged from his cavern looking crestfallen, and many regard him as irritating and stubborn, which only depresses him more. He adores only one thing; his earth magic. He often builds barricades of stone just to block out those who he believes would try to make fun of him, though in truth this only secludes him more. Eventually the other dragons just let him turn his never-ending wheel of sadness and leave him confined in his cage of misery that seems thoroughly impossible to break.
