Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dacen lives along near a small mountain pool. His cave is small, but just the right size for him. He desires nothing- especially not contact with other dragons. As a hatchling, Dacen grew up in a rather large and busy Cave. He was constantly under pressure from the Cave's leader to assist the Cave in its rather violent attempts to take over nearby Cave and destroy human villages. Dacen, naturally peaceful, was disgusted by the behavior of his Cavemates. Once he was old enough and brave enough to survive on his own, Dacen left the Cave to search for a more peaceful way of life. Everywhere he went, he found the same violence in other dragons. Eventually, Dacen gave up on finding companions who shared his dislike for violence and moved himself to a mountain to live out his days peacefully alone.
