Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Fiara is a Day Glory Drake. Abandoned as a hatchling, Fiara was taken in by Queena and her mate Dale. Having no current children of their own, they raised her like she was their daughter. Fiara grew up happy, without memories of her past. She has helped raise Glories over time, becoming the beloved big sister. Though not related by blood, Fiara is a key part of her big, bright, glorious family.
