Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has shiny fish-like scales and loves water.

And look! It has gotten bigger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Tenpurscintengel comes from a long line of evil dragons, and it shows. He chases whales until they beach trying to get away from him, he digs at dark spots on the ocean floor until oil spurts out to pollute the water, and he overturns small boats just to see what falls out of them.

He does have one soft spot, however: penguins. Perhaps he feels kinship with them because they cannot fly like other birds do; he often stops to watch dragons fly overhead. Whatever his reason, when Tenpurscintengel notices penguins in danger, he protects them from sharks and other predators. Sometimes he even drives their favorite fish close to their breeding grounds.
