Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Possibly one of the worst mistakes the dragons on Cataclyps's land made was spoken of the Vampire dragons while she was around. If they had never spoken of the Vampires, then maybe they could have saved a few dozen eggs from the fangs of this Vampire.
The day she was brought in was a piercingly silent one. The day she hatched was a relief filled day for most, but a few dragons knew better than that. And the day she finally became an adult was when most dragons left the cavern for good, fearful for their young and their well being. And they were smart to leave, as the dragons who were foolish enough to stay were destined to have all their offspring attacked by the Vampire. But it seemed she could not make a Vampire egg, as her bite cracked open the shells instantly with every attempt. But one day, a Vampire egg turned up in the Hatchery, and that was the final kicker to make the rest of the dragons leave the cavern. Since then, no dragon has roamed inside.
