Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Electric yellow scales shimmer brightly across its belly, and an even brighter spark adorns its tail.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The Lightning Child was a brave time traveler. Going back in time to help other dragons was what he did. Once when he was time traveling, he was frozen from growing. He was not angered but upset. He would NEVER get his wings. The next day he gave it more thought. He was now happy he had been frozen. Now he could play with the hatchlings forever!
