Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems rather lazy.

And look! It’s gotten much larger and grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Daykaro has potential in many fields, but is too lazy and unmotivated to do any of it. While he's able to write stories that can captivate thousands, he prefers to just scribble little pages of aimless drivel. He can draw so realistically that it would take one's breath away, he sticks with doodles of dungeons and dragons. They say he could sing and dance with such vigor that it would bring one to their knees and force the tears from their eyes, the most he moves is to shift his leg and yawn. His clan yells at him that he could climb a mountain but settles for a hill, his caretakers beg him and strangers come out of nowhere to speak to him. None of this motivates Daykaro, and in fact only makes him only want to lay around even more. Saying those things to him only make him doubt his abilities and fear that he will finally try only to fail, though no one realizes this. Only his friends can see, and only for his friends does Daykaro ever show a golden wink of his full talents.
