Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Regalstone Watcher is so named for the position he can often be found in during daytime—atop an old abandoned stone tower called Regalstone Tower. No one has ever observed him anywhere else but there. Why he has chosen such a place to sit is completely unknown to all.

The residents of the nearby village have observed a pattern in where he sits. Every night he switches to another corner, rotating around the tower in a clockwise direction. This, like everything else about him, is a mystery. Some crazy townsfolk say that he is counting down the time until something happens, but everyone else knows that that is not true.

Unknown to all who look upon him, this dragon has a vast amount of knowledge. He is wise, and knows what the humans of the village are up to, but instead of intervening, he simply sits and observes them with his cold red eyes.
