White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Long ago, Snowfeathers was a personal aide to the immortal human Feathers, whose careful, peaceful hand helped shape and guide the Featherwing Weyr. In her role, Snowfeathers learned to observe, to negotiate, and to think about the big picture. Important skills in the explosion of a war. There was violence in the roars of those who stormed the central holdings of the Weyr; Snowfeathers knew they wanted Feathers dead, and so she tried to find her.

But Feathers had vanished. Snowfeathers couldn't afford to stay and find out where.

She was near the highest point in the Featherwing Weyr, the peak of the Val'Direan Mountain. Her plan was made, and she spread the message to those she could: flee to the highest peaks in the region, and use magic to hide the peaks in clouds. Several clans got the message, and her plan worked: calling their alliance the Cities of Cloud and Snow, these clans live as city-states hidden above the clouds.
