Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very festively colored.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Peppermint Tree is named after Christmas Trees, and well, Peppermint. He is called Peppermint, most of the time, and he is as sweet as can be. On Christmas, he likes flying around, making people think he is a Santa's Reindeer. He is not, however a Santa's dragon, (which is what the "Reindeer" really are) since he's too little. He may be little, but he's got a huge spirit! He's  not called a Spirit of  christmas for nothing! Unlike many hatchlings,  Peppermint is very steady on his feet, and runs everywhere! Since his wings are small, he doesn't fly a lot, but he uses them to reach high places. He has a huge crush on Merry Wing. They are dating, as far as hatchlings can go, since they can't age. He likes being his age because he can spend eternity with Merry Wing. Peppermint was accepted into Dragonrider5624's clan, easily, and was raised by MoonlightFlurry, who is like a dad to him. Dragonrider5624's clan,  also called Ganedons, reside in the mountains, perfect for Peppermint.
