Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It can fit right in your palm.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Gemtara's personality takes after her mother's.  She follows her mother everywhere, and is afraid to be away from her.  She likes following her daddy too, usually bombarding him with a thousand questions at once just like any other curious hatchling.  Other times, she likes to play games with her parents and siblings, but never with other hatchlings because of her timid nature. She even likes to follow her owner as well on some occasions, and steal food scraps from her owner's plate when they aren't looking.
