Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Viridian was the first egg to be stolen by Mistress of Whispers, the first to hatch and the first to mature. As such, she considers herself the leader of the Whispers dragons and none dare to challenge her on this. Viridian can come across as belligerent and overbearing, though she generally means well.

Viridian's control over the earth is extensive but subtle. She seems to be able to communicate with the earth itself and can "hear" intruders coming from miles away. This also allows her to be appraised of the location of the other Whispers dragons, as long as they are in contact with the earth.
