Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Appolune is a dreamer who wants more out of life. While she is content with her existence, and the fact that she has two children already, she wishes she could reconcile with her current mate. While he was impressed by her elegance and heritage, she wasn't interesting enough for him anymore by the time they attempted to have their third child. Appolune distracts herself from this by reminding herself that, as a Soulpeace, she has special powers. However, she's never gotten a chance to use them. She's heard of other Soulpeaces using their powers to cleanse corrupted souls and put the dead at peace, but all she can do is function as a night-light for the hatchlings who are afraid of the dark. She hopes to, eventually, either reconcile with Smol Bloo Woorm or find a dragon who loves her for who she is, not who her parents were.
