Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It can fit right in your palm.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Oyani has a quiet, yet curious nature. Whenever someone tries to talk with her, she only really asks questions. Even if she's being asked; that's how she answers. There's only a certain few dragons who don't get this treatment, and those dragons are close family. She's not often at the cave, because she lives with a nearby faery tribe. She's extremely rarely seen without her best friend, Hileef, a green faery, and when she's not, she's sure to be at the cave staring at another frozen pygmy hatchling called Kaizur. Oyani really likes Kaizur, but is too shy to speak with him to tell him so.
