Crimson Flare Pygmies are named after their small size and speed. They are fast and love to fly up and down in steep climbs and dives, giving the impression of a flare of color in the sky. These dragons travel in swarms during migration seasons and are very social. They live in tropical locations or wherever it is warm, and they are often seen near active volcanoes.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

Scarlet, or "Scar" as she likes to be called, lives up to her name. When angered she tends to lean to the violent side. This has caused her constant applications to Pygmies United, a community of spies, to be rejected. Her constant frustration of this leads her to cause even more trouble. Once in one of her moods, she was able to drive a Terrae away, something that is impressive for a dragon of her size. Scar although small is full of spunk and has caused any dragon to bother her to leave with at least one bite mark. If anyone happens to meet Scar they must be careful when approaching her. If she is in a bad mood, good luck to them. If she is in a good mood, lucky for them, they may end up keeping all of their fingers!
