Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Riath, searching through an abandoned pile of eggs, found something he definitely didn't expect, a rare treasure: golden Shimmer-scale egg. Whooping in joy, he grabbed it and started wheeling it home. Being a long way from home, they stopped for the night in the ruins of an old fort. However, in the dead of the night, tragedy struck. Riath awoke and burst out of his tent, only to see Rawia and Decidea growling at a massive Vampire dragon. Riath quickly cast a light spell and drove off the undead beast. It was only when the dragon fled that he realized the eggs were on the ground. He gasped in horror as he saw the unharmed Frilled dragon egg... and the cold, lifeless shell that was once the precious Shimmer-scale. Riath dug a small hole, ready to bury the egg. But before he could drop it in, the egg twitched. Riath determined that it was alive, and brought it home regardless to raise it. The resulting dragon was Kunzo. Kunzo Cuddlesworth.
