Valentine eggs are only seen once a year. Adults’ mating seasons are very short, usually spanning a few weeks in the mid-to-late winter. These dragons were once reputed to be omens of good luck in love.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Queen is a very spoiled dragon. She loves shiny things such as precious metals and jewels, and thinks such expensive gifts are her due. She is quite indolent; Queen spends her days admiring herself and her collection of shinies. She spurns possible suitors and mocks other females. Her personality is grating, and she isn't well tolerated by other dragons or humans. Many consider her a warning of what Valentine's Day is becoming.

However, Queen does have a soft spot for the human that raised her (and is much beloved in return), and does treat said human with more respect than any other creature in the world. This could be due, in part, to the fact that the human is quite generous with gifts for Queen.
