Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Maenii is not a particularly bright dragon, preferring to communicate with others by means of body language and vocalizations due to her difficulties with using telepathy.  She acts far more like a dog then a dragon; following the kinder and more intellectual dragons about the cave, she delights in nothing more then being sent away to perform straightforward and basic tasks nearby that even though are simple, still need to be dealt with and help the little Ochre female feel more wanted and appreciated with her siblings.  Maenii loves splashing about in the shallows of the Water dragons' lake, leaping around like a fox as she tries to catch small fish.  She greatly amuses Razz Neptune, the lake's dominant Water male, who enjoys spending his time watching over the playful Ochre to ensure that she doesn't venture too deep or hurt herself on the rocky lake shore.
