Mistlet Pygmies thrive in humid environments and are most content when frolicking in the rain or fog. The cheerful demeanor they exhibit provides a remarkable contrast to their shadowy appearance, bringing joy in otherwise gloomy environments. Mistlets are an especially beautiful sight in long summer evenings, as their streak of vibrant scales catch the fading sunlight. They spend a great deal of their time foraging for edible roots and insects, and sometimes enjoy treats in the form of small fish or frogs.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

User Description

Sergeant Littlebottom is a Pygmy dragon with attitude. A member of the Night Watch, she is much like her friend Sergeant Angua in that she is quite determined to cast off the usual stereotypes applied to her breed, something which she achieved to some extent by joining the clan. She herself in fact hated Nocturne dragons before meeting Angua, having—like many Dark Myst Pygmies—been told stories of Nocturnes which waited, statue-like, in the swamps that the tiny dragons call home before devouring any hatchlings which were foolish enough to wander off at night. Littlebottom has to put up with a fair amount of ridicule about her unfortunate name (her first name is Cheery), but generally takes it all in her stride. Under Commander Sam Vimes' leadership, even Stone and Pygmy dragons have learnt to co-operate: he has taught them that they are not Vampires, Nocturnes, Pygmies or Stone dragons, just watchdragons.
