Shadow Walkers are a strange breed that possess the ability to slip between the planes of reality, becoming immaterial. This allows them to hide in the shadows, either hunting from the concealment of near invisibility or evading enemies. Though they become corporeal to mate or to eat, they spend most of the rest of their lives walking in the shadows. Shadow Walkers are wary creatures, though on dark autumn evenings when the leaves fall to swirl in the chill, rain damp air, they may be seen drifting out from the shadows.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This dragon was chosen to live in Paradise. But when she hatched, something went wrong. Her blazing life energy attracted a stray dragon spirit that grew jealous of her new life. It decided to try and inhabit her body so it could live again, but was met with resistance. The little hatchling tried her hardest to save herself, but was only partially successful. She was able to retain her identity but her body was forever changed. She is no longer able to stay completely corporeal, but fades into the places between realities. She is no longer of the living, now she is an Outsider. Because of that, she will forever be barred from Paradise—that is for the living to have. She will never know the true feeling of happiness, of what it feels like to have a close friend, of what a loving mate is like, or what it would feel like to be held close. She is a lonely soul, who will forever skirt the boundaries of Paradise to look at what might have been.
