Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is so full of energy that you have a hard time keeping up with it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Many of the dragons were scared when Camelia started hanging around the Vampire Hatchlings more than the others. Despite that, she still tries to stay close to her adoptive parents, the other two Whiptails in the flight, and some of the other hatchlings. Camelia is going through a phase where she's trying to find where she fits in the best, and she enjoys hanging around the two Vampires more than the others. They make her feel like she belongs. She likes to race with all the hatchlings for a reason—to gloat that she wins.
