Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ying's name means "soaring high," which he does very frequently. He seems to enjoy nighttime the most and loves to fly out in the moonlit night under the stars, watching the fires of the various villages around the cave go out. Ying is more of a hunter than a plant eater, but he will only eat what he kills, and no more. If he is asked, he will gladly hunt for the others, but for the most part, he will usually only hunt for himself, as he isn't too keen on killing more than he has to in order to survive. Ying has a certain infatuation for the female Golden wyverns of the cave, though he rarely shows it.
