Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dark is a very cold hearted dragon. He prefers to keep an eye on the eggs rather than hanging out with the other dragons (the eggs don't bother him), unless it's his mate Allain. Despite this, no harm ever comes to eggs under Dark's care, since anything unfriendly that comes close have to deal with his teeth and claws; no need to mention the magic he knows.

Around Allain, Dark almost seems like a different dragon. He's very sweet and gentle, unless he senses a threat. Anyone who tries to harm Allain has to deal with the same things Dark uses to defend the eggs, but this time it isn't the same—Dark is a lot more willing to kill to defend his mate.
