Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Part of the team of Sylvain clan dragons that combats groups of predators, Mokuton specializes in wood-based magic, manipulating plant matter. His role in combat is to restrain opponents using his mid-range spells, and if necessary, act as the team's field medic. Because his older brothers often compete with each other, Mokuton generally spends his training time studying how to attack certain pressure points, and practicing basic healing magic, which he has limited experience in. Though Mokuton considers himself much less uptight than other members of the combat team, he will sulk for days if someone accidentally steps on one of the plants in his garden, and sometimes uproots entire trees "defending" said plants from the local woodland creatures.
