Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Extra Minty Fresh Toothpaste is constantly confused as to why other dragons, upon being introduced to him, begin to laugh hysterically. This constant laughter first led Minty to believe that he is a remarkably good comedian, but he soon realized that that is impossible because he doesn't even know any jokes.

After much research, Minty has finally come up with a diagnosis as to why everyone laughs when they meet him; he has a rare condition that causes people to laugh!

This discovery has caused Minty to become a bit reclusive, fearing that his condition is contagious, and possibly dangerous to dragons other than himself.

All attempts to convince Minty otherwise have been complete and utter failures, so the rest of the dragons have resigned themselves to Minty's constant search for a cure. They merely shake their heads and cover their giggles when nearby, because whenever Minty hears so much as a snicker, he drags the poor dragon to the White dragon healers, shouting for medical help.
