Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Mels is a happy-go-lucky dragoness, always getting herself into trouble by not obeying the simple rules of courtesy nowadays or by not listening to adults when she was still a hatchie. But she never cares, as she tends to get out of trouble as easily as into it by way of her natural charms. She doesn't have a care in the world and even in the most dire situation she sees the silver lining, so although she offends some dragons from time to time, she is all-in-all well-liked.
