Sunrise Dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise Dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Arising Sun is one of the guardians of the cave. The guardians are the first defense against any invading forces. They expose themselves at the very edge of the caves territory to scout out any creatures sneaking in or out. There are only two guardians in total but one is a sunrise and the other a sunset dragon and so their sleep patterns allow one of them to be up constantly to keep a watch. Arising Sun is the dragon that keeps an eye out during the day. She is silent and stealthy. She can sneak up easily on invading enemies and learn their numbers and strength. She then relays this knowledge back to the other dragons in the cave using telepathy. Arising Sun has been known on more then one occasion to give up her cover to fight an invading dragon herself, as long as she is confident she can overpower them by herself.
