Copper Dragons are masters of stealth, slipping silently and swiftly through the forests and jungles where they live. Often hunting in groups, their prey rarely know they are being stalked until the dragon’s at their throat. In the air they are agile and skilled. Copper Dragons prize family groups, spending large amounts of time teaching their young skills. So great is their love of life and family that they will sometimes adopt orphaned dragons of other breeds to raise.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

At first glance, Nono Metaki looks like a perfectly normal Copper. But his eyes tell a different tale—unfocused, looking far beyond. Hatching blind, Nono has never viewed the world he lives in, another dragon or even a glimmer of light. To say he doesn't 'see' it, though, is almost offensively off the mark. His remaining four senses grant him at least a general greyscale image of what's around him, helped rather by his self-developed echolocation technique.

Despite his understand of real-life, his imagination breaks boundaries of what he physically knows and understands, generating wild images that should never be seen by the eyes of any beast. Indescribable locations, unreal monsters rampant within broken space. These are at their most profound and realistic during sleep and Nono frequently wakes up, fearful, suffering an existential crisis, searching for his mate Nana Metaki, or a nearest friend, to hold him tight and reassure him he's okay.
