Hellfire Wyverns are so named for their foul tempers and fiery visages. Their social structure places all females above all males, due to superior physical characteristics and violent dispositions. Forced subservience of the males causes them to become vicious, petty, antisocial, and passive-aggressive compared to the aggressive and social females. However, orphaned hatchlings raised by foster parents of another species can develop surprisingly even tempers and mellow dispositions, proving that their defining unpleasant nature is, in fact, a learned behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Flame Princess is commonly known as "Flame" but is also called by her real name. She is what one would call a common 'girly, popular, bossy, snobby, cheerleader girl' (except that she's not a cheerleader and not all cheerleaders are mean) and very hot-tempered. She is the most destructive dragon around for miles and will do anything to get her way. There was once a rumor (once because she denied it and made sure no one spoke of it) that she almost killed another dragon because he wouldn't give her a berry. Also, there was a rumor that she burned and killed a whole forest when her boyfriend, Midnight Blue, told her that he was breaking up with her. Her best friends are Queenie ("Queen of all Fire"), and Sun Queen ("Queenay", pronounced 'queen-nay'). Flame and her friends are always found at the same place, doing the same thing: Hiding behind the big oak tree, gossiping and talking about boys. Flame is currently in an on-off relationship with Midnight Blue, a Horse dragon.
