Hellfire Wyverns are so named for their foul tempers and fiery visages. Their social structure places all females above all males, due to superior physical characteristics and violent dispositions. Forced subservience of the males causes them to become vicious, petty, antisocial, and passive-aggressive compared to the aggressive and social females. However, orphaned hatchlings raised by foster parents of another species can develop surprisingly even tempers and mellow dispositions, proving that their defining unpleasant nature is, in fact, a learned behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Kartic was feared the moment she hatched, as with most Hellfires born in the cave. Immediately stuck in the claws of the resident Wyverns of her breed, she patently developed the aggressive behavior her kind was infamous for. Kartic, angered by her friends' fear and driven by a mysterious Ember lurking in her dreams, proved to be quite the monster they envisioned.

When the Ember, later identified as the late but wicked Luperca Mectriss, threatened to overthrow Kartic's mind she fought back, successfully freeing herself from his control. Now independent, the Hellfire decided to abandon her malicious ways, turning to Virtus for guidance. The Sunstone accepted and, under his command, she grew into a fierce guardian of the scroll.

Dragons still fear Kartic, for her ragged, battle-scarred face and body remain a dreadful reminder of her old persona. She could care less, for all she wishes to do is protect her home and her sisters, who have both been raised carefully by Kartic herself.
