Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lepidolitriel GoldenSun (after the gemstone: Lepidolite) became the 61st clan dragon, surrounded in a ray of gleaming golden sunlight and shrouded in a mass of good fortune such that the clan had never before known. When The Clan Mother returned with his egg, the clan elders rejoiced and a great celebration began, which continued for more days than one could count. Lepidolitriel is a feisty dragon with a spirit to match, challenging the hatchlings to try their luck in games of skill and stealth. Although he is not as scarce as his species brother Lepidolithum, he too spends a great deal of time apart from the rest of the clan. His favorite pastime is to gather all the younglings around him in a circle at dusk, and bidding them to close their eyes while counting through the phases of the moon, during which time he silently sneaks away. Hidden among the clouds, he watches them as they hunt and search, looking for any sign of the disappearing golden sun.
