Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys running through a nearby pumpkin patch.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Scout is always busily running through underbrush and, during the Autumn months, pumpkin patches. It is a vigilant hatchling that will quickly squeal and run back to either the other pumpkin dragons or its tamer if it senses trouble. It likes to watch the adult dragons and mature hatchlings fly, and will sometimes gaze with a sense of longing for its own wings. Insects are both a source of food and amusement for Scout, as it will watch them to learn how they move, then strike when the time is right.
