Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shiara was named for Shiara the Sunwing, a dragon who was turned loose by her master.

Shiara is a very cool dragon. By the means of bored and antisocial all the time. She does barely anything other than mill about her cave, and occasionally she races out as if she is on fire when nothing is wrong. She doesn't like to be disturbed, and fiercely keeps people away from her cave. Only when a human or dragon brings food are they allowed to come close to her lair. Even then they cannot come completely inside. No one really understands her, and she often seems sad. Strangely enough, she appears to like Dvardenwing a lot... Her ancestor Shiara the Sunwing, was a Dragon Knight in The War of Iles.
