Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pyropeck TrueBurst (after the gemstone: Pyrope Garnet) was the 70th dragon adopted into the clan cave. Even as a hatchling, she possessed an unerringly accurate aim with her bursts of flame breath, able to strike a single specified target as desired. She quickly came to the attention of The Red Claw and began training early in the hopes that she would join the defensive unit upon adulthood. Pyropeck did not disappoint, and has climbed through the ranks of powerful Reds to earn her position among their commanders. She is frequently called upon when an unwelcomed human approaches, usually seeking the legendary golden Citrinthius, for she has become quite adept at setting ablaze the tail hairs of their puny horse mounts. She enjoys these rather insignificant diversions, seeing them as simple opportunities to test her skill at nonlethal retaliation. Beyond anything else, her dedication and devotion to the protection of the clan and all its dragons consumes her every waking moment.
