Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Suhnrise is a very gentle and amiable dragon. For a hatchling, he's incredibly mature, breaking his seemingly endless silence only to softly ask a question, or inquire if another dragon needs his help. In his blue eyes, dual wells of wisdom glow, quite unusual for his age. He's taken a liking to the guardian hatchling Althair, though, and often helps her keep watch over the eggs.
