When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sailmonus is a content and cheerful water dragon, one of the inhabitants of Tsaelmar Lake. She is very friendly, and, like her husband, Aquapalon, she avoids actual responsibility as much as possible. She lounges in the shallows of the lake, chatting and playing as days pass by, feasting on small, sweet lake-fish and chasing electric eels for sport. She is a popular and well-known dragon, even though she has little going for her in the eyes of Tsalemar Lake's leaders.

Sailmonus's magical skills are sub-average, but her intellect doesn't suffer for it. She is perfectly smart, but prefers to spend her time enjoying herself than doing work. Still, she is the friend of almost everyone she's ever met, and will probably never suffer for being lazy.
