Aww... It’s a cute baby drake. It has the colors of a bright summer day.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young drakes are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own.

A very over-excitable child, this dragon considers herself to be one of the prettiest creatures in all the land--and she makes sure everyone knows it. Constantly throwing herself into the faces of humans and dragons alike, her victims are saved from listening to her squeal about her beauty only when her parents come to retrieve her.
