Deep Sea Dragons, as their name suggests, spend most of their time in the darkest depths of the sea. They have a bioluminescent dorsal spine that serves to attract prey and communicate with their own kind. As with many deep sea animals, they generally eat whatever they can manage to bait. They rarely leave the ocean floor, surfacing only during breeding season. When they do choose to travel to the shallower depths, they avoid bright lights and will only come up far away from shore.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

She's pretty much the opposite of her brother, Kailani. While he delves deep under the ocean to be alone, Oarfish desperately wants to live on the surface. She has a deep connection with her Skywing mother and wishes to play with her as often as she can. The problem is the vicious sun burns her eyes. Luckily, Oarfish is quite the intuitive dragon! She's extremely creative and always solves her problems in outside-the-box ways. For instance, in order to stay above water longer during the day, she invented a pair of tinted goggles to protect her eyes. Not all her ideas are masterpieces and she can often become too ambitious for her own good, but her spirit is always bright. Oarfish is the kind of dragon who is too stubborn to give up, not on her ideas or other dragons. She always tries to see the silver lining, even in the bleakest of darkness. Her intensity can be pretty off-putting, especially if you're meeting her for the first time, but she'll always be ready to admit any mistakes.
