Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its skin is smooth and doesn’t seem to have any color to it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This dragon hails from a land where greedy nobles and bloodthirsty barons have plunged the common people into despair and poverty, and as such he's a bit mistrustful of high ranking persons. In accordance with this, he's been teaching the peasants in all the lands he meets ways to demand and receive fair taxes, security, and peace of mind. Of course, the upper ranks aren't happy with this pint-sized philosopher, and on more than one occasion dragon hunters have been set after him. But the people love their pale adviser, and quickly hide him whenever danger draws near. And it's likely that soon they won't have to fear about the nobles sending men to snuff out their houses...
