Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very festively colored.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Shirley Temple's name is based on the drink cherry sprite, which is sometimes called a shirley temple. He looks like cherry sprite, the red stripes being the cherries, the white background being the sprite, and so he got named Shirley Temple. For short, people call him S.T, Shirley, Cherry, Saint Sprite, and many other fun little nicknames. He is very playful, and especially so around Christmas time. He goes around from cave to cave offering presents, and if the other dragons in the cave are okay with it, he sings Christmas carols. As for the rest of the year, you can see him playing with his friends. He can't fly well though, for his wings are made of holly and are smaller than the other hatchlings wings. Other hatchlings make fun of him for his strange wings and odd Christmas behaviors, but he doesn't care. He knows that his friends will stick up for him.
