Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As a hatchling Heart of the Knight always loved to hear human stories about brave knights fighting ferocious beasts. The fact that in most of theses stories the beast were dragons didn't phase him, because even as a hatchie he knew how much bigger and tougher dragons were than humans. While many of his playmates were afraid of humans, because of all the stories about them killing dragons, Heart only saw the kind of courage it would take for a single human to face someone that much stronger than himself.

He vowed to honour their spirit by becoming as valiant and heroic as the best of them and now as a young adult he has indeed fulfilled that vow.
