Ceriuth Dragons, adorned with colorful scales and a strong affinity for water, are often seen as vibrant streaks of color swishing around in lakes and streams. Their tough scales and strong limbs make them adept at hunting fish and cetaceans, while brilliant fins grant them an almost ethereal allure underwater. Their fine whiskers are capable of detecting minute vibrations in water, and Ceriuths may use this ability—in conjunction with bubble-blowing—in order to communicate underwater. Ceriuths often spend their days preening their scales, which they use to find a mate. Those with the most vibrant fins and scales are often the most desireable—though with their appearance, Ceriuths rarely struggle to woo a mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Since she was hatched, Colorfloat has known she was a mistake in her mother's Weyr and a joy in her father's because of her unique appearance, matching neither parent but taking traits from each. Such dragons are known simply as 'hybrids' in her father's Weyr of Soft Flowers, where peaceful dragons live in hidden tranquility in the southern marshes of the continent. As a hybrid raised there, she knew herself only to be another friend to her Weyrmates no matter her scales or fins.

But in the Weyr of Flame, where Colorfloat was laid, eggs not matching their parents are considered unlucky, a curse, even. The Emperor Flameflow says their mana is twisted, toxic to healthy dragons. Rhetoric like that was why her mother snuck Colorfloat's egg down to the river where she'd met her father, and they agreed to keep their hatchlings in his hidden home far away.

Colorfloat prefers her father's Weyr, but she does sneak in a visit to her mother's now and then. It seems very dull and colorless there.
