Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

He is a frozen hatchling, like Hobsyllwin the Lesser. Cookie is short tempered and angered easily, but underneath all his anger, he is actually soft on the inside. Cookie was left alone for a bit, his parents were hunting and sleeping, so he wandered away. He disturbed a powerful dragon's treasure hoard while exploring, and the dragon followed him all the way back home. The angry dragon put a curse on him so that he wouldn't grow. However, Cookie was hurt by the dragon in the process, and he has sworn to find this dragon. Cookie is taken care of by Blizzard's Claw, and when he is out hunting Miss Smitty Basilisk takes his place.
