Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

A playful and friendly dragon, Eikouhi spends much of her time socialising and being hand-fed by humans. Having been raised by humans since birth (since she was an abandoned egg), Eikouhi has not retained much of the natural flying skills that all Day Glory dragons should have. She struggles to escape from predators (unlike her wild counterparts who can outmanoeuvre such predators with ease) and this has led to an increase in the time she spends with humans (who protect and nurse her back to health when needed). This in turn has led her into being more dependent on these humans, continuing the cycle of human-dependency. Her playfulness also has made her very popular among humans while impairing her survivability in the wild, and it is expected that she will soon become a 'pet' of the humans that take care of her.
